Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

MTL5642:

Challenge 2: Photo Editing

Capture: Take photos for each of the following:

  • Extreme Low Angle: Shoot a subject from ground level, looking up.

  • Perspectives: Take three photos of a subject from different angles, and select the most interesting one, explaining why.

  • Product Photo: Photograph an object as if it were for a catalog or menu, considering the background and composition.

  • Macro: Get up close and personal with a small object (flower, insect, etc.).

Challenge Two: Editing

Extreme Low Angle

For this topic, I chose to shoot some photos inside our backyard garden beds. This time of year, the plants are always incredibly lush, so it was a bit difficult to find an angle that didn't look like a jungle.

To help ward off those awful squirrels, my wife purchased some of these fake owls. I do wish I had shot another angle, but as I was finishing these photos it started pouring down rain.

I found these chili-flaked mango gummies at the store the other day. I loved the color contrast between the gummies and the green of the garden plants. I had several other photos at different angles, but this one showcased the color best.

Macro

Just outside of our backyard fence, we have 7 blueberry bushes. At the moment, 4 of the plants have fruit that's ripening. This was a fun one to capture because I've never really taken the time to look at blueberries this close before.
